Professor Karam Khalil received Japan emperor’s Order of the Rising Sun

 

Professor Karam Khalil, Head of the Japanese Language Department and Vice Dean of the Faculty was granted the Order of the Rising Sun by Japan, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening relations and consolidating the bonds of friendship between Japan and Egypt.

Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun is the highest-ranking decoration awarded by the emperor of Japan to foreigners who have made outstanding achievements in relations with Japan.

Dr. Karam Khalil, has a long-standing role in teaching Japanese language in Egypt since 1985, making significant contributions to academic cooperation between Japan and Egypt. He has taught in the Japanese language departments at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia; the Japanese Language Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University; the Japanese Language Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun, Aswan University; and the Japanese Language Department, Faculty of Languages and Translation, Al-Ahram Canadian University.

Ambassador Oka, Japan's Ambassador to Egypt, extends his gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Karam Khalil for his achievements and contributions. He also expresses his happiness to see Japan-Egypt relations making progress through activities conducted by the Japanese Embassy in collaboration with Egyptian friends. The Japanese Embassy in Egypt will continue to make every effort to further develop Japan-Egypt relations in the future.
